Welcome! This is me
As-salamu alaikum!
On this page you can learn more about me, about my education in western and Islamic psychology, as an author and also as a common muslim like you.
Let's start with something on the field of Islamic psychology: I entered the world of western psychology almost twenty years ago, with a BA in Psychological Sciences and Techniques (San Raffaele, Milan) with a focus on Neuroscience. I continued my studies with a MA in Neuro-Cognitive Psychology (Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, Munich) and a doctorate in Systemic Neurosciences, also in Germany.
I began to specialize further in the field of Islamic psychology and was in the first group of graduates at Cambridge Muslim College (UK), the first Diploma in Islamic psychology in the world!

Islamic Studies
My other great passion is the study of Islam, which I "knew" at the age of twenty, through German culture. I then moved to Syria to study it better, and I obtained both traditional theological certificates (ijazāt) and diplomas in English and Qatari institutes.
Although it may not seem directly connected to my work in psychology, this Islamic training is actually the real backbone of what I do: through the foundations of ʿilm it is possible to provide ʿilm al-nafs ("Islamic psychology") consultations that are 100% not only ḥalāl, but spiritually coherent and effective.
Through my travels in the countries where I studied, I also gained a broad cultural competence, ideal for working with people with a migrant background or with second generations.
In the Islamic field I also deal with education; Since 2016 I have been directing the Averroè Institute of Islamic Studies in Piacenza (and online), the largest madrasa in Italy.

Writing
I love writing very much.
My favorite literary genre is poetry, of which I have published two collections: "Non amo chi tramonta" (2021) and "Il Crollo" (2024). I am now working on the third, in sha'Allah.
I have also written several essays, all on Islamic themes. The latest is "Manifesto dell'Islam Italiano" (2024), which talks about the most important points for Muslims in Italy, and the rights that are difficult to obtain for this minority.
For those who deal with Islamic studies or Islamic psychology, I have written more than 40 academic articles, the majority of which are available online on my Academia page.

Something else...
I know that starting a journey with a complete stranger can often be difficult. Even though I'm not a very extroverted person, I thought it might be useful to say something else about myself.
I have so many passions and interests, even if I don't have much time to delve into them... I love languages , and I'm always trying to learn new ones. I see them as doors to new ways of thinking. I love to keep in contact with ancient and fascinating cultures; as far as now, I'm learning Bosnian, Mandarin and the Arabic dialect spoken in Damascus.
I'm also deeply involved in photography. I share my best pictures and some of my poems on Instagram, on the page you can find here and follow. Most of my photos are set in the Emilia-Ligurian Apennines, where I love to spend my days off from work.
The Apennines are the place where my poems are set, and I love trying to capture its small details in photography. Hiking is a great form of tadabbur (contemplation) and tafakkur (reflection) for me.
Thank you for reading this entire page, I am honored to meet you.
